Getting up in the morning to greet the new day, with a beautiful bay as your back garden, can’t be beaten. The sky was pearl grey, but no matter, it’s not raining.
Today included two trips ashore, the morning one to walk along the coastal path, to Blace Cove. What a gorgeous beach! It’s a protected bay and boasts being the best preserved bay of coastal sands in Croatia. Rare plants and fungi grow here, along with marine algae and sea grass meadows in the water. It’s a wide bay with shallow water and lots of rocks so even quite small boats couldn’t get in, even if they were allowed, which they are not. It is surrounded by the largest stone pine forest in Croatia and is completely peaceful and tranquil.

Just as well we didn't step on this fella as we returned |
Our afternoon trip ashore was to the village, where we were able to buy bread at the very well stocked Studenac supermarket. Studenac shops are everywhere in Croatia and are often the only shop in tiny villages on the islands and with a great range of products.
The weather has improved sufficiently that we’ve put the bimini up for the first time this year. It was a top temperature of 26C today, just lovely.
Dinner served on the sun deck, with the bimini in place |
The fishermen go out, in their tiny open boats, at dusk, adding to the timeless feel of this location. We were one of nine yachts in the bay, by evening all privately owned, including French, Czechia, German and Maltese.
