2nd May 2023 - Luka Polace, Mljet

Not much happened today because we were sitting out bad weather. Rain and high winds had come in during the night, but we stayed attached to the mooring buoy, so no dramas.

At 7.00am a fishing boat was out with the fisherman tending to the pots near us, in and open boat and in the pouring rain. Our admiration for fishermen is renewed. However it cannot always be challenging; when Polo came to us to settle up, he said he was just going fishing for 20 mins. I took that to mean that was all the time he needed to get his catch for the day. Easy peasy.

We dined on a starter of octopus salad and an absolutely delicious lobster pasta; the best I’ve ever had, not that I’ve had lobster pasta very often. What a treat.

We will try not to indulge the social media habit of photos of food, but this was spectacular!

You can just make out the size of the block we were moored to, as mentioned yesterday.  We were not going to be shifting this.
